How to Combine iPhone Photos Using Layout

One of the best ways to put photos side-by-side on an iPhone is by using the free Layout app. This app comes from the developers of Instagram, and provides various ways to combine your images.

To start:

Open the App Store on your iPhone and search for Layout. Tap the entry that says Layout from Instagram and install the app on your phone.
Launch the app once it's installed.
On the app's main screen, tap the photos that you'd like to combine into a single image.
As soon as you start tapping photos, Layout displays various compositions at the top. Select the layout that has your selected photos side-by-side.
Your selected layout will open in full-screen mode. If you want, use the tools given at the bottom of your screen to edit your photo.
Tap Save at the top-right corner to save your combined photo.
Layout will save your photo to the Photos app.

On the following screen, search for Combine Images and tap that option in the results.
Now, you need to configure the selected action. In Mode, select Side-by-Side since you want to put your photos side-by-side.
Then, choose either Horizontal or Vertical depending on how you want to combine your images.
Leave the Spacing field blank if you don't want to have a space between your combined photos.
Now search for another action named Save to Photo Album. Tap the action when it appears in the search results. This action will save your combined photo in the Photos app.
Tap the option next to Album in the Save to Photo Album section to choose a place where your combined photos will be saved.
Tap the settings icon at the top-right corner of your shortcut.
In Settings, tap Name and enter a name for your shortcut. Use a descriptive name like Combine Photos so you don't lose track of it in the future.
Enable the Show in Share Sheet toggle so that you can see this shortcut in the Photos app. Then, tap Done at the top-right corner.
Tap Done at the top-right corner once again to save your shortcut.
Launch the Photos app on your iPhone and select the photos you want to combine.
Tap the share icon at the lower-left corner and choose Shortcuts.
Select the shortcut you created above and let it run through its process.
Go back to Photos and you'll find your combined image there.
