Additional information will help us get the right solution for you. How do you transfer photos from iPhone to PC? It is possible that the files itself in your storage is duplicated. You can check the location source of your photos. See the screenshot below:

The Photos app automatically finds most of the photos and videos on your PC and OneDrive. Sometimes though, you might need to tell it where to look.

  1. From within the Photos app, select Sign in (or your profile picture), and then Settings. (OneDrive)

  2. Under Sources, select Add a folder .

  3. Browse to a folder on your PC, an external drive, or a network drive connected to your PC, and then select Add this folder to Pictures. Subfolders of the folders you add will be included, too.

Please update us with results for further assistance.

I transfer photos by connecting my iphone to my computer with a usb port.

I have had a look at Settings:

Underneath Sources I have two folders mentioned

C:Users\name\Pictures

C:\Users\name\SkyDrive\Pictures

I am assuming the SkyDrive account is the same as my MSN OneDrive  but please confirm.

Thanks

It is possible that the cause of the issue is about the sources of your Photos. Let's try to remove the C:\Users\name\SkyDrive\Pictures as a source location of pictures.

Let us know the results if you still have duplicates after removing the other folder source.
